Lanier Brugh Corp, a US Mail contractor, is hiring for extra board positions in the Seattle area. The job requires a minimum of 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience and a clean driving record with less than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years and a clean criminal record with no felonies in the last 10 years. You must be at least 23 years old and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen for COL drivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Teaching and public speaking: Presenting materials about work, workers, and their organizations in training and workshop settings.
- Outreach: Communicating with constituencies regarding programs via variety of communication technologies and in person.
- Strategic Program Development and Coordination: Working with Labor Center staff and allies to develop programs and recruit participants.
- Research: Gathering information about key issues and events affecting work, workers, and the economy to use in trainings and to provide to constituencies as needed.
- Logistics and administrative support for Center functions: Working with Center and College staff to track and maintain the Center's resources and make them accessible to our constituencies.
- Resource for faculty and students: Working with campus programs and instructors to incorporate the specialized knowledge and practices of Labor Education into existing College settings.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Teaching and public speaking: confident & creative presentation and facilitation skills.
- In-depth knowledge of unions, labor history and current labor struggles.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Outreach: sensitivity to a broad variety of diversity issues and comfort engaging in controversial topics. Logistics and administrative support for Center functions: basic computer skills; being organized and an excellent time manager; ability and willingness to work occasional evening and weekends.
- Physical requirements: a great deal of sitting, some standing, some driving, minimal lifting and carrying, a great deal of computer and phone use.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree AND minimum of three years' experience in union and/or labor education activities, OR 5 years of union and/or labor education experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficiency in language other than English
- Having held an officer or staff position in a union
- Having participated in significant union campaigns including organizing, bargaining, leadership development, etc

We intend to work hard in the next three years to see our public funding restored so that this position can be continued beyond the 3 years of union funding. The salary is $50,000 with full benefits.

Job Description:
- Work from order sheets to build loads for transport, bulk and/or route trucks, using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Each type of loading requires strict attention to order accuracy, both on what is loaded onto outgoing trucks and what is unloaded from incoming trucks.
- Transport truck loading involves moving full pallets of product from the warehouse onto a trailer, and removing any returned pallets/plastic flats. Include unloading of raw materials and placing the in designated warehouse space.
- Bulk truck loading involves selecting designated packages and flavors of product from the warehouse, then loading them onto a pallet. Responsible for maintaining the stability of the pallet by properly stacking and shrink wrapping the built pallet. In most cases, load pallets onto a trailer for local delivery. Unloading returned product and pallets/plastic flats. This is a very physical position.
- Position requires lifting product weighing from 20-45 pounds repeatedly during a 10-12 hour work period. Requires constant standing, walking, bending, twisting, squatting reaching and grasping as you move product.

Every employee at the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) works closely with our visitors and guests. We hire
employees who enjoy greeting, listening and responding to these guests. All work is done with a smile and each

The successful candidate will assist the Event Services Department in fulfilling the needs of our guests and exhibitors at
WSCC. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

- Check credentials of exhibitors entering the facility via loading areas
- Monitor and control vehicular traffic flow in the loading areas of the facility

- Provide directions and general information about downtown Seattle and marshalling yards being used during event(s)
