Teamster workers involved in the Unfair Labor Practice Strike against Oak Harbor Freight Lines, which started September 22, 2008, put down their picket signs after 157 days and went back to work on an “unconditional return-to-work agreement” in an attempt to resolve outstanding differences. Despite its promises, however, the Company ignored the rules and on February 25, 2009 illegally suspended 13 Oak Harbor Teamsters without pay for standing strong on the picketline. Then the Company fired 6 of the 13 on trumped up charges, leaving these fellow Brothers and Sisters in a financial bind. The Oak Harbor Freight Lines saga continues. Federal mediation is in progress.
